The skills are broken up into skills learnt from the core modules and the person-centred practice modules which will be included in the “bonus content”.
For core units:
I understand what online therapy is, and how I can use synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid approaches to meet the needs of my clients.
I have the equipment I need to fill my therapy “toolbox” and my client has the equipment they need, including internet connection and secure data storage.
I know about the different modalities of online therapy, and have an understanding of when it might be useful to use each of them.
I can tell who’s on a therapy team, which roles they might have, and who the key worker is.
I have basic coaching skills and I know why that’s important.
I know how to deliver a culturally safe online therapy service.
I know what considerations of privacy and confidentiality need to be made that are different from in-person therapy.
I know what some of the common misconceptions are regarding online therapy.
For elective units:
I know what person-centred practice is.
I am familiar with the principles and practice of person-centred goal setting.
I am familiar with the principles and practice of dynamic assessment.
I am familiar with the principles and practice of person-centred intervention.
